Morgan Contract Furniture is a family-founded British business, dedicated to the design and manufacturing of high-end, contemporary furniture for contract clients around the world.

They have two large pitched and flat roof areas that are suitable for solar PV. After a successful grant application to the Community Solar Accelerator scheme, they were awarded a grant of £25,000 to help finance the installation of 191 solar panels.

The solar PV array size is 75kW and will produce in the region of 78,000 kWh of electricity per year. Morgan Contract Furniture will make financial savings of at least £7,600 in the first year. However, as electricity prices will increase with an upcoming contract renewal, the savings will be significantly higher. This will reduce the payback time down from 5 years to 3-4 years.

The Solar PV installation is part of Morgan Contract Furniture’s net zero carbon commitment.

“Self-generated electricity and thus reduced pull from the Grid will significantly contribute towards Morgan’s Net Zero Carbon targets. Reduced dependency on Grid imports will strengthen Morgan’s business sustainability, not only by reducing environmental impact but also increasing resilience against external energy availability and price fluctuations.” Paul Jones, MD
