Naiad Plastics are an injection moulding company with over 45 years’ experience in the production of injection moulded parts and assembled products. The company is based in Littlehampton.

Plastic injection and moulding are done using heavy machinery which is an energy intensive process. That’s why Naiad Plastics were looking to make use of their pitched roof which is ideal for the installation of Solar PV.

Naiad Plastics successfully applied for a £21,800 grant from the Community Solar Accelerator scheme which supported the installation of a 58kW solar PV array plus 2 EV charging points.

The company estimates that the Solar PV will provide around 34% of their electricity usage, with an expected annual yield of around 56,900 kWh.  The EV charging points were installed outside the front of the building. These are used to charge their company electric vehicle and they are also available to the public.

The payback time will be between 2-3 years at current electricity rates. Estimated cost savings are going to be approximately £11,100.
