Hiya folks,

Just to let you know that we’re looking for a dynamic person to help Brighton Energy Coop develop new solar PV projects. The role is to scope new sites – you’ll be working with Google Earth and Google Maps to identify new roof prospects, and then identifying the ownership of those buildings via web search and other in-house tools. The role is technical, and there’s plenty of computer work.

It’s an unpaid, part-time position, but you’ll gain an understanding of how new solar projects get off the ground, are funded, and then built. Our team is informal, innovative and dedicated – you’ll be working alongside our project developers creating new projects for the Brighton and Hove community energy revolution!

You’ll need to be able to think logically and assimilate various bits of data; as well as to have an enquiring mind and use investigative skills.

Our office is in New England Road in Brighton; to apply answer the following questions and send ’em to info@brightonenergy.org.uk (not more than 400 words in total, please)

Why do renewables excite you?
What do you think is the main obstacle to rolling our more renewable energy in the UK?
What do you want to get out of your time with Brighton Energy Coop?
What relevant experience do you have for the role (work-wise, education, interests)?

Feel free to share this with anyone who you think might be interested.

Cheers
Will
