The first of our Canadian Solar panels are connected to their frames

Exciting news: forty of our solar panels were installed today at Shoreham Port. These are the first of our community-owned solar array at the Hove Enterprise Centre; 200 more will go on our five roofs there in the next few weeks. Together they will form the largest solar system in the county.

If you’d like to join Brighton’s first community solar project there are two weeks left to go of our share offer. We’re keen to get started at City Coast Church and St George’s Church as soon as possible, so please send us your cheques as soon as you can. NRG Renewables laying out the panels

Over the last two weeks our installers, NRG Renewables have been working hard at the Port. They’ve erected framing structures, installed the wiring and the put up inverter housings. We discovered a blocked duct between the inverters and meter housing, so we had to dig a small trench to open another route.

We’ve also been busy around the city, with a stand at the Climate Connections Show and the EcoTechnology Show, as well as interviews on Juice FM and RadioFree Brighton. Check our Facebook page to see recent media coverage and blog posts on the progress of Brighton Energy Coop.

Hope you are well, and don’t forget – two weeks to go!

Cheers
