Great news – work is progressing nicely at our latest solar build at Rathfinny Wine Estate.

Many thanks to all of you who have already invested into our latest project. More than 120 people are supporting the creation of new solar at Rathfinny; it’s always humbling to have so much community support.

Our Latest Solar Build – 578kWp of New Solar

We’ve raised most of the money for Rathfinny via our current share offer. Any difference between the actual cost and the money we raise is going to be funded by money from our balance sheet. However, since our mission is commuinty-owned renewables, we’d rather have this latest solar system funded through our community shares model!

You Can Help us Make it Happen!

Back at Rathfinny, nearly all of the 1410 solar panels have been fixed to the roof of two of the grape-processing sheds. Next up the electricians will arrive at site to fit our new SolarEdge 100kW inverters. It’s great to see solar going at this lovely Sussex site; Rathfinny is a real community hub, employing the equivalent of 90 full time roles, and home to several businesses.

Join BEC

You can help make it happen – to join BEC click here.

Our share offer is open until the end of December. People investing will receive a projected 5% return on monies invested for 2 years and 3.5% thereafter. In addition to this interest, people putting money into BEC get 4% of their capital back each year (since the project will run for 25 years, after which we will gift the solar system to the wine estate).

The profits from operating the solar also go to support our Community Fund, which is focussed on helping local schools both save energy and educate the kids on renewables.

Cheers
